With over two decades of experience in the sport, Juan brings a lifetime of polo knowledge and leadership to the Ligonier Polo Association. Born and raised in Argentina, Juan began riding at the age of four and was introduced to polo through his family — a legacy that spans over a century of dedication to the game.

As a young rider, Juan trained under Guillermo Villanueva, a renowned seven-goal player, which set the foundation for his lifelong passion for polo. His career advanced quickly, leading him to join the prestigious high-goal team La Lechuza Caracas. While with the organization, Juan managed all aspects of team operations — from player coordination and horse care to farm logistics, veterinary and farrier consultations, and international travel across four countries.

Juan also played a vital role in farm and facility development, gaining hands-on experience with polo field construction and maintenance alongside field expert Alejandro Battro. His expertise extends to jump and dressage arena construction, Grand Prix-level surfaces, and exercise tracks.

Now based in the United States, Juan holds a four-goal rating with the U.S. Polo Association and is proud to lead training at Ligonier Polo Association. His deep knowledge, professional insight, and passion for the sport continue to inspire the next generation of players.
